Anti Bullying Week

21st - 25th November

Our school took part in Anti-Bullying Week this term. As we take a strong stance against bullying, we felt the importance of making an issue of bullying was huge.

During the week, assemblies and PSHE lessons focussed on the issues of bullying, and how to deal with being bullied. We also discussed why people bully in the hope that some children will see the reasons behind it.

Children were asked to design an 'anti-bullying' logo and slogan - we aim to create a leaflet for parents and friends outlining how we tackle bullying in our school.

Children in Year 4 also worked with Tim Rubidge, who helps children develop body movements and dance. The children in Indigo class performed a workshop for parents and friends on a Friday afternoon.

At the same meeting, Paul Parkin from the NSPCC talked about the role of 'Talk-Time' in school. This is a 'drop-in' session for all Key Stage 2 children, who are able to discus problems such as bullying with Paul in a secure, confidential environment.

Anybody wanting to discuss the school's anti-bullyin policy, or the role of the NSPCC in our school, please feel free to contact Mr Craig.
