What is a school governor?
Briefly, it is the job of our School Governors to be concerned with the general well-being of the school. They work in partnership with the staff to agree aims, values and priorities of the school. They are an important policy making and monitoring body. They appoint representatives of their body to visit the school from time to time. They hold termly meetings to discuss matters relating to the school. They have responsibilities with regard to the curriculum, finances and local management of the school. They are involved when members of the school staff are interviewed and appointed. They have the general responsibility for the effective management of the school. They are asked to demonstrate commitment to the school and to care about the pupils, staff and parents.
