are school governors?
Every school has a
governing body. This is where parents and other people from the local
community get together with teachers to make the school a success.
The governing body
consists of
- mothers and fathers
of children who go to the school
- teachers and non-teaching
staff at the school
- people appointed
by the local council
- businessmen and
women and others working in the local community appointed by the local
education authority
- respected community
members co-opted by the other members of the governing body
- a special interest
